A beautiful French 19thC Oil Landscape Painting in original gilt frame. Depicting scenes of village life and a chateau on the hill, the canvas itself has wonderful signs of age and ‘craquelure’, a French term used to describe cracks that appear on the surface as the paint ages and shrinks. The original gilt frame has been beautifully restored overtime, with evidence of the artist’s signature marked. A very difficult one to part with!

There is a slight bubble in the canvas which is typical of of an old painting, please see photo.
