A spectacular Antique Dutch Oil Painting in gilt frame sourced on my buying trip in France. The painting is called ‘Windmill at Wijk bij Duurstede’ and is an example of Dutch Golden Age style, attributed to the artist ‘Jacob Van Ruysdael’, a Dutch painter from the 17thC. Depicting scenes of seaside village life with incredible detail and use of dusty greens and blues. The gilt frame is in lovely condition with reference to the artist on a central plaque. The age of this painting is unknown, but based on the canvas I believe it to be late 19thC / early 20thC. As far of reproductions go, I think this is a wonderful example.
